Four product areas in which Taiwan leads the world, with the standards, property classes and certification you need for each.
Taiwan is the world's third largest exporter of fasteners. The cluster around Kaohsiung holds more than seven hundred factories and accounts for roughly seventy per cent of Taiwanese exports. Many of those companies have supplied Germany and the United States for decades but have no channel in the Benelux.
Below, per category, what you need in order to specify correctly, including where Taiwan gives a real advantage and where it does not.
- Bolts and nutsHex bolts, socket screws, nuts and washers to DIN and ISO, in property classes 4.6 to 12.9.
- Construction screwsStructural timber, chipboard, self-drilling and drywall screws, with CE marking and ETA where the application requires it.
- Threaded rod and anchorsThreaded rod to DIN 975 and 976, and mechanical and chemical anchors with ETA for structural use in concrete.
- Stainless steelA2 and A4 fasteners to EN ISO 3506, plus duplex and HCR for environments where A4 is no longer enough.
